CESM2(WACCM): For experiment G6sulfur, injections were performed at 25 km in altitude over the equator. The protocol specifies injection over 18-20 km in altitude, spread across 10 S to 10 N in latitude.
GISS-E2-R: Due to an error in processing, no clear-sky radiative fluxes are available for any experiments in Phases 1 and 2.
GISS-E2-R: The RCP4.5 runs, G3 runs, and G4 runs were all run with different initial conditions and background scenarios for the GeoMIP project than the CMIP5 project. This issue is the result of using the wrong restart file to continue the experiments from the historical runs. As such, there are incompatibilities between the historical runs and all of these runs. We are working on correcting the issue and will update the ESGF nodes as the new model output becomes available. To avoid confusion, once the new model output is available, all of the old model output will be withdrawn from the archive. We expect that these issues will only affect analyses that use the RCP4.5, G3, and G4 simulations produced for GeoMIP as extensions of the CMIP5 runs. Analyses that evaluate changes as compared to RCP4.5 (e.g., G4 minus RCP4.5 or G3 minus RCP4.5) will not be affected by this issue.
IPSL-CM5A-LR: For experiments G3 and G4, the sulfate aerosols do not interact with the radiation code in the longwave.
NorESM1-M: Due to a coding bug in the longwave treatment of the sulfate aerosols, cooling from sulfate aerosols in experiments G3 and G4 is weak.
